Former Zanu PF Chivi District coordinating committee chair, who served as councilor for a record 43 years since independence has died.
Sanders Nyika Magwizi died aged 75.
The Chivi-born businessman died at Family 24 Medical Centre in Masvingo yesterday after collapsing at his house in Mashava.
His young brother, Nobioth Magwizi, said the family had been robbed and it was a surprise to them as he was not sick.
“It is a big loss to the family, he was not ill but he just collapsed at his Mashava home and was rushed to Family 24 where efforts to resuscitate him failed," he said.
Magwizi, who was also known as Magadzanhaka or Kabila, was a popular advocate of the liberation struggle, helping freedom fighters with food and clothes.
He is survived by his wife and 12 children.
