Incoming ambassador of Belarus has presented copies of his credentials to the Zimbabweana Foreign Affairs Minister.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Zimbabwe, Ihar Marshalau, presented his credentials to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Zimbabwe, Frederick Shava on February 5 in Harare.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, the ambassador and the minister discussed the main areas of Belarusian-Zimbabwean cooperation.
They deliberated on the preparation of the upcoming 1st session of the Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation between Belarus and Zimbabwe.
They also discussed strengthening trade and economic ties between the two countries.
Zimbabwe recently acquired 4000 tractors from Belarus to boost agricultural production.
The two countries are also working together in the area of security with Belarus offering training for Zimbabwean police officers.
