87-year-old killed in boundary dispute

An 87-year-old man has died in a simmering boundary dispute in Mhlawuli Village, Nkayi District, recently.

Willie Khumalo, 87, died while admitted at Gwelutshena Clinic after being struck by an axe all over the body by Brilliant Ndlovu on Sunday over a longstanding boundary dispute.

Nationalpolice spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“Police in Gwelutshena are investigating a case of murder in which the victim, Willie Khumalo, 87, died whilst admitted at Gwelutshena Clinic on May 9, 2023 after allegedly being struck with an axe indiscriminately all over the body by the suspect, Brilliant Ndlovu, on May 7, 2023 at Mhlawuli Village, Setshange,” he said.

“The suspect and the victim had a longstanding land boundary dispute.”
