Ariston Holdings Limited has named Leon Wilhelm Nortier as chief executive officer following the resignation of Paul Timothy Spear with effect from March 1, 2024.
Spear served the company in a number of capacities for 27 years, serving 13 years as the chief executive officer.
In a statement, Ariston said the board has retained Spear in a consultancy role for a period of 12 months due to his expertise.
“Paul’s foresight saw the company transforming from being primarily a tea and coffee company to expanding its product offering to venture into large scale macadamia production for export in Zimbabwe.
The incoming CEO, Nortier holds a Bachelor of economics degree from Stellenbosch University and has 23 years’ experience farming in Southern Africa.
He was chief executive officer at African Farmer Group, a large-scale farming operation he established with operations in South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe.
His agricultural experience covers oil seed production, grain crops, horticulture, plantation, crops, fibre, tobacco and livestock.
Ariston Holdings is a diversified agro-industrial concern listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.
Ariston's business interests span a variety of products including tea, macadamia, row crops and poultry.
The operations of the tea growing units are fully integrated with the Blended Tea Factory for value addition for tea.
