From April 23 to 27, 2024, the 64th Zimbabwe International Trade Fair was held in Bulawayo, with Kenyan President William Ruto and Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa co-opening the event.
With the theme “Innovation: The Catalyst for Industrialisation and Trade”, ZITF attracted 576 international exhibitors from 27 countries, including China, the United States, Germany, Belarus, Russia and the United Kingdom.
“Together with, Dr. Xiao Zhiqiang and Dr. Wang Minhua, we participated in the ZITF on behalf of the 21st of China Medical Team. We set up a traditional Chinese medicine booth in the China Pavilion, exhibiting acupuncture human models, auricular-point models, acupuncture utensils, cupping, Chinese medical specimens and Chinese patent medicines to showcase TCM therapy and TCM culture to visitors, attracting a lot of attention from local people and international friends.
“On April 24, Zimbabwean Vice President Chiwenga and his wife visited the TCM booth. I introduced acupuncture and Chinese materia medica to them, and presented the ‘Youai Garden’ made by the First Hospital of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine to the Vice President’s wife. Vice President Chiwenga expressed high affirmation of the miraculous curative effect of traditional Chinese medicine,” said Dr. Hu Sha, deputy captain of the 21st China Medical Team in Zimbabwe
The TCM booth was dedicated to displaying Chinese medicine therapy and spreading Chinese medicine culture, and provides more platforms for local people in Zimbabwe to understand Chinese medicine, so that they can enjoy more benefits of Chinese traditional medicine, and make positive contributions to further promoting the exchanges and cooperation between China and Zimbabwe in the field of traditional medicine.
