Three Harare men, who stole money from a safe at work before stage-managing an unlawful entry, have been taken court.

Adrian Jackson, 22, of Mabelreign, Tanaka Kaseke, 23, of Highfield, and Mujeyi Dzikiti, 49, of Mufakose appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing theft allegations.

They were remanded in custody.

The State alleges that on April 21, Jackson, who was the custodian of safe keys and office door keys was working together with Kaseke and Dzikiti.

Dzikiti was on night guard duties and the three stole US$3 960, which was kept in a safe in the custody of Jackson.

The court heard that to cover up the offence, they stage-managed an unlawful entry into premises case by leaving the safe open, office cabinet drawers open, office door open and locked a sliding screen door.

It is alleged that on May 8, detectives instituted investigations, leading to the arrest of the three accused.

Kaseke alleged that he received a share of US$2 000 from Jackson which he used to pay for the deposit of a Nissan Caravan vehicle.

Total value stolen is US$3 960 and nothing was recovered.
