Africa Day celebrations held yesterday at Mwanza High School in Goromonzi District - facilitated by Chinese-owned Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe – also highlighted PLZ’s commitment to local community development.
The celebrations, which were marked with a cultural exchange between Zimbabwe and China also showcased PLZ’s community development projects such as road construction, borehole drilling, school donations, and the completion of the school laboratory.
Mwanza High School Headboy, Evans Goffman, expressed gratitude to the company for their support and contribution to the school’s infrastructural development.
“We want to thank the PLZ for helping us finish the school laboratory which was taking long due to so many projects which are running at the school.”
Chief Mwanza, along with sub-Chiefs and village heads, graced the Africa Day celebrations adding to the cultural significance of the event.
The event featured captivating performances from schoolchildren, who showcased traditional dances, while the University of Zimbabwe Confucius Choir entertained guests with their harmonious rendition of Chinese and Zimbabwean songs.
The event embodied the spirit of unity and cultural exchange, celebrating the diverse heritage and traditions of both countries.
