A man who allegedly raped a commercial sex worker has been remanded in custody.

George Bayisai, 40, appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts facing rape allegations.

He will appear in court on May 28, for bail application.

The State alleges that on May 18, at around 2300 hours, the complainant in this matter was at the shops where she usually looks for customers.

The court heard that Bayisai approached her and negotiated for a whole night sexual partnership.

The complainant allegedly charged US$20 for the whole night and Bayisai agreed and they went to the complainant’s place of residence.

As they walked, the court heard, Bayisai suddenly grabbed the complainant by the neck, dragged her and pushed her against a perimeter wall.

He then ordered the complainant to lie down and he raped her.

He then disappeared into the darkness.
