A violent confrontation erupted in Mbare when a man allegedly stabbed his co-tenant in the stomach after discovering that he had gone out with his wife without his knowledge.

Tatenda Mazambani, 26, appeared before Harare magistrate Jesse Kufa facing a charge of attempted murder.

He was remanded in custody until March 16.

The complainant, Alex Ngandu, 23, lives at the same address as Mazambani at Matapi Flats.

Although the two are not related, they share the same residence.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 7 a.m. at Block 12 of the flats.

Ngandu allegedly went out with Mazambani’s wife, an action that reportedly angered Mazambani.

Upon learning about the outing, Mazambani confronted Ngandu demanding an explanation.

A heated argument ensued, during which Mazambani allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed Ngandu once in the stomach.

Ngandu sustained a deep cut and was rushed to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for medical treatment.

The matter was reported to Zimbabwe Republic Police at Matapi, leading to Mazambani’s arrest.
