Dzivarasekwa Man Charged with Murder After Assault on Wife

A tragic incident has unfolded in Dzivarasekwa Extension, where a 40-year-old man is facing murder charges after allegedly assaulting his wife, leading to her death.

Alfred Majoni appeared before magistrate Tapiwa Kuhudzai at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with the murder of his wife, Slyvia Katenaire.

The court heard that on August 1, 2025, at around midnight in Dzivarasekwa Extension, Majoni allegedly headbutted Katenaire several times in the face.

The following day, Katenaire reportedly went to work and confided in a colleague that she had been assaulted by her husband.

At around 8 AM, she collapsed and was rushed to Parirenyatwa Hospital, where she was admitted.

She died on August 3 from injuries allegedly sustained during the assault.
