An alleged "problem child" has been taken to court by his parents accused of destroying and selling their property.

Arnold Nadzo, 38, of Kuwadzana appeared before magistrate Apollonia Marutya at the Harare Magistrates' Courts to face charges raised by his father, Prince Nadzo, 78.

The State through prosecutor Thomas Chanakira, alleges that between March 2023 and 2024, Prince went to Norton leaving Arnold in residence.

Prince returned to discover that various types of blankets, 5kg and 7kg gas tanks, welding machine, electrical light, refrigerator compressor gas stove plate were missing.

He enquired from Arnold who told him that he sold the items in Kuwadzana 1 and Kuwadzana Extension.

The court was informed that he then led Prince and managed to recover a welding machine, 7kg gas tank and an electrical light valued at US$350.

As a result, the total value stolen was US$900 and US$450 was recovered.

The court was informed that on June 4, 2024, at around 1300 hours, Arnold was drunk and kicked Prince's tuckshop and it collapsed.

He was remanded in custody.
