Police have confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection to a series of armed robbery cases.

The four arrested suspects are Pharaoh Moyo Chidyanavarungu, 27, David Mkosana, 30, Terrence Mpofu, 21 and Genioud Washaya, 31.

Police acted on received information, leading to the arrest - in Damafalls - of Mkosana, who then helped police to lure his other accomplices to OK supermarket in Kwekwe where they were then arrested on the scene.

In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said Chidyanavarungu and Nkosana were shot in the legs as they attempted to flee from the police and are admitted at Masvingo Provincial Hospital.

β€œThe arrest of the four armed robbery suspects led to the recovery of a laptop, an open view decoder and an itel cellphone. During the interviews, the four armed robbery suspects revealed that they had sold 16 x 20 litres diesel coupons which they stole,” Ass. Comm. Nyathi said.
