Gems Off to Winning Start as Sharon Bwanali Claims Top Award

Sharon Bwanali shone brightly at the Celtic Cup after she won the Player of the Match award in the Zimbabwe Netball 'Gems’ opening game of the tournament.

The Gems started well as they secured a 57–40 victory against Northern Ireland in their first match. The win gave the team confidence as they moved into a busy week of fixtures.

The Gems are set to face Wales today, a team they met in a test match before the Celtic Cup began. In that match, the Gems lost 50–40, and both teams will now meet again in the tournament with a chance to prove themselves.

After the Wales game, the Gems will take on Namibia on Friday. Their schedule continues with a match against Uganda on Saturday, before they finish the competition with a game against Scotland on Sunday.
