Five employees of Hezy Motors Logistics appeared before a Harare court facing fraud charges after allegedly accepting payments from clients for vehicle imports the company allegedly had no capacity to deliver.

Kelly Moyo (19), Melody Karakupa (29), Bridget Tanyanyiwa (27), Paidamoyo Sunhwa (25) and Pamela T. Zambe (35) appeared before Harare regional magistrate Jesse Kufa charged with fraud and defeating or obstructing the course of justice.

The court heard that between January 2025 and May 2026, Hezy Motors Logistics advertised vehicle importation services on social media, claiming it could source and deliver vehicles for clients.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi told the court that clients paid deposits after engaging the company online, believing their vehicles would be imported. However, the vehicles were never supplied, resulting in losses amounting to US$155 000.

Investigations revealed that several complainants, led by Julia Mude and 15 others, collectively lost money through the alleged scheme.

The accused were each granted bail of US$200 and remanded to June 26, 2026.
