Hit-and-run motorist runs over and kills two people

The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident that occurred in Mabvuku along the Harare-Mutare Road.

The road accident occurred on yesterday at around 0300 hours, where an unknown motorist who was driving an Isuzu Double Cab (registration number and colour of the vehicle not recorded) allegedly ran over two pedestrians who had parked their Mazda B2200 on the road side.

The two victims sustained severe injuries and died upon admission at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.

Meanwhile, a Bulawayo man, Elias Dzingai was arrested on Friday in Cowdray Park, Bulawayo by the CID Homicide Bulawayo and CID Hwange for a murder which occurred on May 25.

Dzingai allegedly murdered 27-year-old Irvine Simbuyu and stole his Honda Fit vehicle.

Police have since recovered a brown wallet containing the victim’s particulars from the suspect and the body of the Honda Fit vehicle, which had its parts stripped off.
