Inspector Mandizvidza Denied Bail

A Harare magistrate has refused bail for Simbarashe Mandizvidza, the police officer who shot to notoriety after declaring himself the new head of the Zimbabwe Republic Police.

Mandizvidza made headlines when he appeared in a viral video ordering all Chinese nationals in the country to vacate within 48 hours. 

Magistrate Vakayi Chikwekwe ruled that releasing him would pose a risk, as he could abscond or interfere with State witnesses.
