The Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) has donated 30 locally manufactured tablets to Warren Park 1 Primary School in Harare, strengthening the school’s digital learning capacity.

The gadgets produced under the brand name “Palpo” at Bindura University of Science Education (BUSE)were handed over by INSTAK Chief Executive Officer Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, who attended the school between 1990 and 1996.

The donation is part of INSTAK’s community social responsibility initiatives in Warren Park, where its flagship project, Liberation City, is located.

The tablets are expected to enhance ICT learning at the school and expose pupils to locally produced technology.

Muzawazi said alumni have a responsibility to support the institutions that shaped their foundations.

“I am who I am because of where I came from,” he said.

“Let’s all give back to the schools and the communities that have given us so much.”

Muzawazi also announced plans to host a fundraising dinner in January 2026, with proceeds going toward the construction of an all-weather tennis court at Warren Park 1 Primary School.

He urged companies, organisations and individuals to support local industries by purchasing made-in-Zimbabwe  products.

The Liberation City project home to the Museum of African Liberation, Liberation Mall, Heritage Village and other facilitie continues to assist the surrounding community through services such as a community borehole and opportunities for local suppliers.
