Zimbabwean youth diplomat, Kudzai Gasho, has been appointed as an Ambassador for Intercontinental Youth Connect for the year 2026, marking a major  milestone in his growing influence on youth leadership and development across Africa.

The appointment, confirmed through an official Certificate of Appointment, recognizes Gasho’s demonstrated commitment to youth leadership, diplomacy, community development, and global cooperation. As an ambassador, he is expected to represent the organization at national, regional, and international levels while promoting its mission of unity, partnership, and youth empowerment.

The certificate underscores Gasho’s role in advancing the values and vision of Intercontinental Youth Connect, entrusting him with responsibilities that align closely with his ongoing advocacy work across the continent. His appointment places him among a network of young leaders tasked with shaping conversations around development and collaboration.

This development comes at a time when Gasho has already been making waves on the continental stage. Speaking recently at the African Youth Leadership Diplomatic Conference 2026 held in Addis Ababa, a city that also hosts the headquarters of the African Union, he urged African governments to prioritize young people in economic transformation strategies.

Gasho emphasized that Africa’s future depends heavily on investing in its youth population, describing young people as the continent’s greatest asset. He challenged leaders to move beyond policy rhetoric and implement practical measures that expand access to education, skills development, innovation, and leadership opportunities.

He further highlighted the importance of youth participation in governance and diplomacy, arguing that young people must play an active role in shaping policies that affect their future.

According to Gasho, empowering youth as leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators is key to unlocking inclusive economic growth across Africa.
