A 43-year-old man is facing criminal trespass charges after allegedly entering a restricted area at State House and refusing to leave when ordered to do so.

Isaac Mugwagwa appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Court following the incident, which prosecutors say occurred during the early hours of March 28, 2026.

According to the State, Mugwagwa entered a restricted section of State House and approached a soldier on duty, claiming that people were after his life and that he needed assistance from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Prosecutors allege that Mugwagwa became aggressive during the encounter and grabbed the soldier.

Security personnel reportedly ordered him to leave the premises, but he allegedly refused to vacate the area.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

The matter is before the courts.
