A Harare man, who allegedly hit a phone serviceman with a hammer, accusing him of not giving his phone, has appeared in court.

Fanuel Mandaza, 24, of Avondale West, appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi charged with robbery.

He was remanded in custody.

The State, through prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi, alleges that on January 29, at corner Mugabe and Rezende Street, Mandaza, approached the complainant demanding his phone, which he had left with the complainant for repair.

The complainant failed to give him the phone and Mandaza went away.

It is alleged that he later on approached the complainant with a hammer and hit him on the head.

Mandaza then took away two phones a Samsung A10 and Samsung A70 worth valued at US$270.
