… pretends to be private investigator and gets paid to track down swindler

Michael Mashiri

A Harare man, who claimed to be a director of a private investigations company and got paid to recover money but failed to deliver his services, has been taken to court.

Blessward Rufaro Zvikaramba, 26, of Eastview appeared before magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with fraud.

He will appear in court on April 22.

The complainant in this matter is Ashleigh Kuda Masango, 31.

The State alleges that on Zvikaramba lied to Masango on January 24, at around 1330 at Joina City that he was the director of a registered private investigations company in Zimbabwe.

Masango hired Zvikaramba’s services to help him in tracking and apprehending one Wilson Magadza who had swindled him of his money.

It is alleged that Zvikaramba was paid US$800 for the services but Zvikaramba had lied that he would track down Magadza.

It is alleged that Zvikaramba did not meet his obligation, leading Masango filing a police report.
