A man from Hopley, Harare has been talen to court after he allegedly lied hat he could facilitate the processing of an identity but failed to do so.

The suspect, Willard Katuruza, 41, of Hopley Zone 6, Waterfalls, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts charged with fraud.

He was remanded in custody.

The State, through prosecutor Nomsa Kangara, alleges that on February 16, at the Registrar-General’s office at Makombe Building in Harare, Katuzura defrauded one Fadzai Ndavambi.

He allegedly lied that he was an employee at the RG’s Birth and Death Registration offices and that he had the capacity to facilitate a national identity card for Ndavambi.

He made her pay US$20.

According to the State, he knew very well that he could not facilitate such.
