Parliament Ousts Mutodi as Budget and Finance Committee Chairperson

 

The Parliament of Zimbabwe has terminated the tenure of Honourable Dr. Energy Mutodi as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance, and Investment Promotion with immediate effect.

Signed by Speaker of Parliament  Jacob Mudenda, the decision was communicated to Mutodi following a resolution by the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO).

The letter stated: “This serves to notify you that pursuant to Standing Order No. 19 of the National Assembly, the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) has resolved to terminate your tenure as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance and Investment Promotion with immediate effect.”

 

Mudenda further noted that all associated privileges and benefits attached to Mutodi’s role would be stopped immediately. “Consequently, all benefits and entitlements attendant upon the said role shall likewise be discontinued forthwith,” the letter read.
