Slightly over a week after the burial of six Tynwald High School learners who died in a bus accident near Pine Tree Hotel on the Rusape-Nyanga Road on their way to a trip in Nyanga, robbers on Tuesday pounced on the institution and got away with over US$5 000 in cash, a cell phone, wallet, and an HP laptop, all with a combined value of US$6 015.

Police confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are in progress.

“Police in Harare are investigating a case of robbery which occurred on 25/10/22 at Tynwald High School, Harare. Five unknown suspects attacked two security guards who were on duty at the school before stealing a cell phone, wallet, US$5 800 cash and an HP laptop, all valued at US$6 015.”

Meanwhile, ZRP Stoddart is investigating a robbery case that took place at a company premise in Ardbennie, Harare.

Six unknown suspects, armed with an unidentified pistol and knives, police said, attacked a security guard who was on duty at the premise and broke into the company offices.

The suspects allegedly forcibly opened a safe and stole US$12 908.
