Amidst the bustling streets of Harare’s CBD, along the vibrant stretch of Central Avenue, stands the Madhadha Liquor Store, a beacon of entrepreneurial spirit. However, a cloud of uncertainty looms over its future as stakeholders seek its closure through legal recourse.

“We are not the ones who allocate licenses to ourselves,” asserted Madhadha Liquor Store proprietor, Dunmore Mambondiani in an interview with Zim Now.

“We have followed due processes which are required by the City of Harare and Liquor Board.”

The store’s proximity to esteemed medical institutions has sparked a debate, with stakeholders arguing that the boisterous presence of a liquor establishment is incompatible with the tranquil ambiance of a healthcare haven.

“The President is very clear that as young people, we should work hard and contribute to the fiscus,” Mambondiani said, echoing the clarion call of President Emmerson Mnangagwa that urges Zimbabwe’s youth to embrace entrepreneurship.
