Togarepi Elected to Lead Southern Africa Regional Caucus Amidst Calls for Unity

Togarepi elected as the Chairperson of the Southern Africa Regional Caucus following a decisive meeting held this morning, marking a significant step in the regional leadership transition. His victory comes on the heels of the successful election of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) Bureau yesterday, signaling a swift and organized consolidation of leadership within the regional bloc. The caucus demonstrated an exceptional level of solidarity, as the entire election process was governed by a spirit of unity and togetherness.

In a move that highlighted the region's commitment to collaborative governance, Hon. Pupurai Togarepi will be supported by a diverse leadership team. Hon. Kgosi Mosadi Seboko of Botswana was selected to serve as the Deputy Chairperson, while Hon. Dr. Thabiso Lebese was appointed to the role of Rapporteur. The seamless nature of the transition was attributed to the fact that all nominations were reached through consensus, ensuring that the Southern Africa Regional Caucus enters this new legislative period with a clear, unified mandate to represent its collective interests within the broader continental framework.
