Two 16-year-old male learners from Masasi High School in Marange, Manicaland Province, appeared before the Mutare Magistrates' Court facing charges of gang-raping a 17-year-old schoolmate. The alleged incident was captured in a disturbing video that circulated on social media, sparking widespread outrage.

Prosecutors successfully opposed bail, citing the seriousness of the offence and public outcry as reasons for the accused to remain in detention. The court remanded the case to October 14 for further proceedings.

The case has drawn condemnation, and the court's decision reflects the gravity of the allegations.
