Unidentified Visitor Recovered From Zambezi River Near Victoria Falls

 

Authorities have recovered the body of an unidentified tourist from the Zambezi River close to Victoria Falls, following a discovery made on Wednesday morning. Initial indications suggest the individual may have fallen from the Zambian side of the famous waterfall.

Officials have released limited information, but it is understood that Zambia’s Department of National Parks and Wildlife is working closely with river and tour operators in Zimbabwe to support the recovery efforts.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that two lodges—one located in Zimbabwe and the other in Zambia—have each reported a missing guest. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether either case is connected to the deceased, whose identity and nationality remain unconfirmed. Authorities say further details will be shared once identification is complete and next of kin are notified.
