A Harare woman is facing serious allegations of defying a court order and persistently stalking a politician and prominent businessman.

After being arrested, Annalisa Muguwe appeared before a magistrate on Thursday and pleaded not guilty.

She is scheduled to return to court on March 17 for trial.

The State alleges that on February 14, 2025, Muguwe was placed under a protection order barring her from insulting, threatening or contacting the complainant.

Prosecutors say she nevertheless continued efforts to reach him, sending text messages and attempting calls despite the court’s directive.

She is also accused of extending the alleged conduct to the complainant’s immediate family, actions prosecutors say amount to a deliberate breach of the law.

The case was reported to police at Rhodesville Police Station, leading to her arrest and subsequent court appearance.

Prosecutors maintain the allegations reflect a sustained disregard for a binding court order.

She was also recently arrested for assault, an altercation which occurred between her and a family member
