Government commends private players in education

Government has acknowledged contribution of private players in the education sector as they are complimenting state efforts through building schools and providing quality education for learners.

"Government is committed to make sure that all Zimbabweans yearning for education have access to it I want to commend complimentary role being played by private education players like this Matanah Christian Colledge a well-built state of the art college offering differentiated learning skills to our learners thanks to the Matumbike family," said Education Minister Torerayi Moyo.

The Minister was speaking in speech delivered on his behalf Education Director Dr Ngandini during the official opening of Matanah Colledge in Chinhoyi.

Minister Moyo urged unregistered schools to become compliant. He challenged teachers to further their studies to be better equipped to deliver better service.

Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Mash West Marian Chombo, in a speech read on her behalf by director Sunny Seremani said the role being played by education private players adds value to the national vision which calls for an upper middle income society by 2030.

Provincial Education director Mr Gabriel Mhumha said the province is upholding vocationalisation in schools, advisory boards all schools and taking sporting throughout the whole year.

Matanah Christian Collge opened its doors in 2020 with 36 learners and has grown over the years to an enrolment of 334.
