Chitungwiza grandpa, 75, force feeds wife her own poo

In case of gender based violence on an epic level, a 75 year old Chitungwiza man has been detained in custody after his 70 year old wife accused him of forcing her to eat her own faeces.

Mbuya Nurse Nota of House Number 272A Mutema Close in St Mary's on Wednesday stood in the complaint's dock at the Chitungwiza Magistrates' Courts where she shared her agonising story.

She accused her husband Joseph Mpaso, 75, of shoving her body waste shoved into her mouth following a misunderstanding. Nota also accused Mpaso of smearing faeces all over her face.

All this happened while Nota’s mother who is over 100 years old could only watch the abuse.

The couple, which has been married for 48 years, has six children and 13 grandchildren.

Nota is a vendor while Mpaso is a plumber

On the day in question, the couple were at Nota’s vegetable stall at Mandaza Corner Shops along Rufaro Road. They crossed words over an undisclosed matter and Nota left the market place in a huff.

She went off to relieve herself at their home a few metres away and Mpaso followed her.

"I was shocked to see the toilet door suddenly burst open and my husband entering. He hoisted me up from the toilet seat, scooped a handful of my poo and forced into my mouth. He also physically assaulted me in the process, "Nota told the court.

Nota walked into the charge office at St Mary's Police Station with the "evidence" for the officers to see.

The matter was referred to court at which Mpaso pleaded guilty to indecent assault.

He has been remanded in custody to tomorrow, Friday August 23.

The complainant, Gogo Nota,said this was not the first time the couple has been at loggerheads.

In late 2023, she had to be rushed to Chitungwiza Central Hospital for treatment after she had consumed poison following a misunderstanding with Mpaso.
