Tawanda Madondo, better known by his stage name Mbida D, has vowed to defend his title at this year's National Cup Clash. The reigning champion, who secured a BMW car courtesy of Chipaz Promotions in the 2023 edition, is confident in his ability to once again reign supreme.

Set to take place on August 31st at City Sports Centre, the National Cup Clash is a highly anticipated event for Zimdancehall enthusiasts. Mbida D considers City Sports Centre his "fortress," drawing parallels to Real Madrid's dominance at the Santiago Bernabeu.

"Just like Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu, it is me at City Ngoma," Mbida D told Zim Now. "I am ready to defend my title and I have a lot of surprises for everyone."

The National Cup Clash has become a platform for Zimdancehall artists to showcase their talent and cement their legacy. In the previous edition, Mbida D's exceptional lyrical skills and stage presence earned him the coveted championship.

Libho, the runner-up, was rewarded with a luxurious bedroom suite and $500, while Khonangale, a crowd favorite, received a cash prize. A Mutare DJ also secured a DJ deck, a brand new laptop, headphones, and two microphones, demonstrating that talent can be found in every corner of the Zimdancehall scene.
