Kenya's Harambee Stars coach Engin Firat has sounded the alarm over the return of Khama Billiat to the Zimbabwean national team, warning that the former Kaizer Chiefs star poses a significant threat to their 2025 AFCON campaign.

The two sides will lock horns in Group J of the qualifiers at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda on Friday. Billiat's comeback, following lengthy discussions with new Warriors coach Michael Nees, has added a formidable dimension to the Zimbabwean squad.

Firat expressed his concerns about the rejuvenated Zimbabwean side, highlighting Billiat's immense talent and experience. "You saw Zimbabwe has no squad problems, all players are fit, all of them are back," Firat stated. "Even players who didn't come before, they come back, like Khama Billiat, who is a very good player, someone who stopped from retirement, and also other players with a new coach."

The Turkish mentor acknowledged the formidable challenge that Zimbabwe presents, but remained optimistic about his team's chances. "He has the possibility to get them back, so they will come with a very strong squad, we know it. But we know this team also, so therefore it will be very tough, we will see," he added.
