The Youth CORP Corporation has restored the stalled Nokma Lok Housing Project, which is now expected to provide 3,000 stands.

During a recent meeting of the Urban Development Corporation in Harare, Deputy Minister of National Housing and Social Amenities, Musa Ncube announced that the project, which had been inactive since December 2019, is back on track and set to contribute significantly to the National Development Strategy 1.

“The corporation is now back on track and well poised to contribute to National Development Strategy 1, where we expect to pay a key role under the housing delivery thematic areas.

“We are pleased to note that the corporation has finally managed to resuscitate the Nokma Lok housing project which will yield around 3 000 stands. The Nokma Lok has been stalled since December 2019 and the recommencement is indeed a key milestone”, she said.

This project is a key element in the government’s housing delivery goals.

Additionally, Shingirai Mushamba, Chief Director of Spatial Planning and Development in the Ministry of Government and Public Works, emphasised the government's efforts to regularise informal settlements and provide secure land tenure.

He noted that the process involves creating approved layout plans and ensuring proper title issuance.
