Three men have been arraigned before the courts accused of attempted murder.
Ronald Mpopoma, 38, Trevor Chigumba, 40, both of Tynwald North, and Fungayi Razawu, 58, of Lot 5 Spitzkop, appeared at the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with attempted murder.
They will appear in court October 22.
The State alleges that on September 12, 2024, the three accused who parked their BMW X6 by roadside at Lot 5 Spitzkop, Harare with other unknown accomplices who were in a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado confronted the complainant, Blessed Runesu who was with his driver Rueben and cousin Brian Dube driving in their Range Rover.
It is alleged that the accused aboard a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado followed and blocked Runesu's car and they also blocked them from behind in their BMW X6.
The court heard that Mpopoma came out of the car and fired two shots towards the left side of Runesu's Range Rover car using a double barrelled shotgun and missed them.
It is alleged that Runesu's driver manoeuvred and drove at high speed with the accused in hot pursuit and outpaced their two cars.
The court was informed that the complainants drove straight to ZRP Dzivarasekwa where they filed a report.
Investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of the three accused.
Searches that were carried out led to the recovery of 2 X double barrelled shotguns Mpopoma and Chigumba offices while Razawu led to the recovery of a 12 bore Mossberg.
