The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has unveiled a new strategic plan aimed at propelling Zimbabwe's economic growth and positioning the nation on the path to achieving upper-middle-income status by 2030.
The Zimbabwe Industrial Reconstruction and Growth Plan 2024-2025 is designed to build upon the foundations laid by the Zimbabwe National Industrial Development Policy. The plan prioritizes boosting productivity, enhancing global competitiveness, and creating sustainable jobs for Zimbabweans.
Industry and Commerce Minister Nqobizitha Mangaliso Ndlovu, speaking through Deputy Minister Raji Modi, underscored the critical role of the private sector in driving economic transformation. The government, he emphasized, will create a conducive business environment through supportive policies and regulations.
"The strategic goal is to drive productivity, increase our global competitiveness and ensure decent jobs for our citizens," Ndlovu said.
The plan also emphasizes the importance of sustainable practices and partnerships in building economic resilience. By focusing on green industries, Zimbabwe aims to mitigate environmental impact and adapt to global challenges.
