Infidelity knocks out Boxing champ

Mosquito and Wife

Gilbert Munetsi

Former champion boxer Arifonso "Mosquito" Zvenyika's marriage is on the rocks following revelations his wife  may have been engaging in an extra-marital affair.

The matter came to light when the wife, Jesman Mutokonya's phone needed repairs and Mosquito took it to a technian for repairs.

And it was in the process of retrieving important information from the handset that the former Commonwealth boxing champion says he came across explicit chats between his wife and the alleged boyfriend.

It has since emerged the name of the boyfriend is Leonard Jamanda who Zvenyika's wife claims works in the President's Office.

Chats in possession of Zim Nowspeak to a romantic affair in which the forbidden fruit seems to have been dished out quite generously,  and demand for more of the same was requested.

Intimate moments are reminisced upon in the messages and the wife even goes further to refer the boyfriend's privates by his totem.

"Ndotanga kubvisa cho*a"

"Kkkk ndinokutyora musana shamwari."

"Nei manje?"

"Nekus**r*. Dai yam*r* ndakutumira zvairi manje. Ndatoipa mazuva ano."

"Ndokuzvambura n**o. Huya ubve wakuyerera hur*m*" go some of the chats.

What Mosquito says infuriates him the most is the lack of remorse on the part of his wife's boyfriend.

When confronted with the evidence, Jamanda was offensive in response, telling off the former champion and advising him to divorce the wife if he felt she was cheating.

"Ukaona mazuva ano muchirwira mukadzi kana kuponderana mukadzi ndiwo udofo chaiwo.

Mukadzi ahura anorambwa wotora mumwe anovimbika. Nehuwandu hwevakadzi sure zviriko here? Ini wangu adaro anoenda kumusha kwake bhudhi, ini kwandiri she said she is a single mother.

"Dai uriiwe waidini? Pafunge bhudhi pekuti tinetsane nezvisina maturo. Plus ini handina kuuya kumba kwako."

And when he threatened legal action against the two, the boyfriend pulled no punches, opting, instead, to rub more salt onto the fresh wound:

"Hama chekutanga dai waisungirira imbwa yako kuti isapoye.

"Kechipiri dai wakainyora kuti mukadzi wemunhu mybe zvaiva ne sense. Iwe vakadzi vangani vawanyenga?

"Sekuti isu tinoziva kwedu kuti mukadzi ahura ipapo ipapo anorambwa. Saka zvekucourt kwandiri haisi nyaya.

"Ko iniwo kana ndiri kuita  revenge mukadzi wanguwo wawakanditorera? Saka unofunga kuti ini handikuzivi here? Ita mushe pliz usandinetsa go to hell and hang.

"Saka ini chete ndini wawagona kuona matext angu, ko evamwe ke? Kana iri nyaya yemacourts ndiko kwangu ikoko, toonana musi wacho.

"But next time isa mukadzi wako chikwangwari chinotaridza kuti mukadzi wemunhu. Plus kuona mukadzi wako akuda mumwe murume iwe uripo there's something wrong. Dont bother me anymore. Let us meet kucourt sekureva kwako.

Never one lucky in matrimony, Mosquito has walked past three marriages, the first of which he was just 16.

For one who has sired a dozen offspring, there was hope he would finally settle down when he tied the knot with Mutokonya in August 2016.

The blissful ceremony, held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Waterfalls was punctuated with pomp and fanfare, in nwith the Police Band providing a live performance.

The latest Jaguar model vehicle was given by a corporate which Mosquito cruised with, seated on the back passenger window and waving to passersby in the streets of Mbare as he showed them his ringed left finger to announce he was off the bachelors' shelf.

However, the recent developments indicate all that now remains of the union is an entry on the nuptial  certificate as the couple have all but gone separate ways.

Yesterday morning "Mosquito" rerurned home from the gym to find his wife having vacated their Mushongandebvu Street, Mbare, home.

She took with her most of the household furniture that includes a kitchen unit, wardrobe, blankets as well as all the food bought for the festive period. She also left with their three children aged 12, 8 and 3.

"Ndasvikowana imba yave dongo mukoma. Dzimwe pfungwa dziri kuti ndiuraye vaviri ava because ini vatondiurayawo nezvavaita, but an Advocate l train at the gym has been counselling and advising me to go the courts route.

Zvenyika rose to prominence when in 1998 he won the Commonwealth flyweight title in Scotland after beating British opponent Paul Weir. The same year he successfully defended it against another Briton, Keith Knox, before subsequently losing the title to Damien Kelly.
