Mavambo set for live album recording

Kudzie “Kayz” Mavambo is set to host a live album recording concert at Reps Theatre on December 2, 2022.

Mavambo is a Zimbabwean actor, guitarist, singer and session musician who sings and plays Afro Jazz fused in an original mix of indigenous African sounds and contemporary urban styles.

The 11-track album titled Mavambo (A NEW BEGINNING) is to be recorded and performed live by a seven-piece band called Soul Train.

The album features Mary Anibal, Victor Msara, Jeldous, Keen Marshall, a Zimbabwean based in South Africa and Zambian artist Roy the Songstar.

Mavambo said his album addresses social issues faced by communities from love, rape, heartbreaks and gender-based violence.

He has shared the stage with a number of artists, including Gary Tight, Sir Bede, Mbeu, Pauline and the late Oliver Mtukudzi.

Mavambo has a first-grade certificate at the Eisteffod vocal and instrumental festival in the Vocal Solo African Contemporary.

He has toured a number of countries and played at many international festivals, including in Qatar, Mauritius, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Spain, Germany, South Africa and Uganda among others.
