Aspiring ZIFA president Nqobile Magwizi took a significant step towards his presidential bid by meeting with the ZIFA Central Region councillors over the weekend. This crucial interface aimed to give Magwizi a deeper understanding of the councillors' expectations from the next ZIFA president.
"I had an amazing time hearing what the expectations of the councilors are," Magwizi said after the meeting. "As we work on our manifesto, it's essential to have a clear understanding of the issues on the ground. This will shape the manifesto I present, should I be fortunate enough to be included in the final candidates for the elections."
With the ZIFA elections nomination process set to close on December 11, Magwizi is one of the candidates vying for the top spot. He'll be competing against Marshall Gore, Themba Mliswa, Gilbert Muponda, Farai Jere, and Walter Magaya. All submitted names will undergo an integrity test, the final certifying process for candidates.
Magwizi boasts an impressive track record, having spearheaded the Dynamos and Highlanders Sakunda sponsorship deal. He's also a board member for Northern Region Division One league side Banket Mine Football Club and project manager for the installation of bucket seats at the National Sports Stadium.
