DNA tests on the baby girl delivered to the Tsholotsho 9 year old girl have ruled out the girl’s father as the baby daddy after police indicated last week that the case was still wide open.
“Yes the DNA results came out negative and now the real search for the father (of the newly born) begins,” sources revealed this morning.
The National University of Science and Technology Applied Genetic Testing Center conducted the test free.
The father was taken into custody in August after the child’s pregnancy was discovered.
Police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi last week revealed that police were casting their net wider to find more suspects in the matter.
Sources imply that the father has not yet been cleared on suspicions of incestuous rape of the minor.
“It’s now a complex matter,” said the source.
The child who is now a mother revealed to a trusted adult that she was repeatedly raped in the night in the bedroom that she shared with her parents.
The minor also said that after the rape her father would tell her that the culprit was a spiritual entity that then escaped through the window.
The rape repeatedly stopped when some cousins came to live with the family and the minor was now sharing a room with the other children and no longer sleeping in her parents’ bedroom.
