Dynamos FC is gearing up for the 2025 season with renewed focus and ambition, targeting a strengthened squad through nationwide trials and the inclusion of foreign talent. Speaking to Zim Now in Harare, Coach Lloyd "Mablanyo" Chigowe outlined the club’s plans, emphasizing their proactive approach to identifying and nurturing talent across Zimbabwe.
With recommendations pouring in from the club’s extensive fanbase and stakeholders, Dynamos has embarked on trials to assess promising players from various provinces. Chigowe highlighted that the initiative is not borne out of desperation but reflects the club’s commitment to uncovering hidden gems and giving deserving players a platform to shine.
“We’re not holding these trials because we’re desperate, but we feel it’s necessary to cast a wide net and assess talent from regions we don’t always reach. It’s all about giving the boys a chance and seeing if they can contribute to making Dynamos a top-tier team,” Chigowe said.
In addition to local talent, Dynamos will welcome three new foreign players next week. These signings are expected to bring international experience and depth to the squad, enhancing the team’s competitive edge. Chigowe expressed optimism about their impact, stating:
“We are excited to bring in these foreign players. They’ll add a new dimension to our team and help elevate the level of competition in the squad. Our goal is to build a competitive, cohesive team, and the inclusion of experienced foreign players is part of that strategy.”
Despite the optimism, Dynamos faces challenges with the departure of key players like Emmanuel Jalayi, Donald Mudadi, and Tanaka Shandirwa. Goalkeeper Martin Mapisa may also leave the club, raising concerns about gaps in the squad. However, Chigowe remains confident in the team’s resilience and ability to rebuild:
“Losing key players is always challenging, but it’s part of the game. We have a solid squad, and the new additions will help fill the void. The remaining players and those joining us are ready to step up to the challenge.”
Pre-season training is set to commence on Monday, with a focus on team chemistry, fitness, and tactical refinement. Chigowe stressed the importance of these sessions in shaping a team capable of delivering both attractive and effective football.
“Our main goal is to build a team that is not only competitive but also capable of playing attractive and effective football. We want to give our fans a team to be proud of. The hard work starts now, and we’re ready to take on the challenges ahead,” he added.
As Dynamos FC enters the 2025 season with a blend of experienced players, fresh local talent, and new international signings, the club is determined to reclaim its position at the top of Zimbabwean football. Chigowe called on the passionate Dynamos fanbase to remain patient and supportive as the team strives for excellence.
With a strategic focus on growth and a determined mindset, Dynamos is ready to make a strong comeback. The 2025 season promises to be a thrilling chapter for the club and its supporters, with high hopes for success on and off the field.
