Announcing the appointment, MMCZ Board Chairman, Mr. Jemister Chininga, praised Dr. Moyo’s extensive experience and transformative leadership, which he said had instilled confidence within the Corporation.

“Dr. Moyo has proven herself as a visionary leader, steering the Corporation toward remarkable achievements during her time as Acting General Manager. Her leadership has been exemplary, and we are confident she will continue to build on this success in her new role,” said Mr. Chininga.

The Corporation also expanded its global footprint by penetrating new markets in Australia, China, Colombia, Burundi, and India, boosting Zimbabwe’s export growth.

Additionally, MMCZ made strategic investments in laboratory equipment to reduce mineral leakages and launched a gemstone cutting and polishing training center at the Zimbabwe School of Mines, promoting value addition and beneficiation.

“As the exclusive marketer of Zimbabwe’s minerals, MMCZ plays a pivotal role in driving economic growth and maximizing returns for the nation. Dr. Moyo’s leadership will ensure we continue to innovate and expand our footprint in global markets,” added Mr. Chininga.

He expressed confidence in Dr. Moyo’s ability to strengthen stakeholder relationships and align the Corporation’s operations with national development goals.
