The Zimbabwe Football Association executive committee elections are set today with the highly anticipated event scheduled to take place in Harare. The elections promise to be a thrilling contest, with six candidates vying for the top position of presidency.

The presidential hopefuls include a mix of seasoned football administrators, former players, and business professionals. Makwinje Phiri, a former Dynamos forward, will face stiff competition from UK-based football administrator Marshal Gore, who is expected to bring a wealth of international experience to the table.

Former Premier Soccer League (PSL) chairperson Twine Phiri will also be in the running, drawing on his extensive knowledge of the local football landscape. Businessman Nqobile Magwizi, former ZIFA board member Philemon Machana, and ZIFA Northern Region chairperson Martin Kweza complete the list of presidential aspirants.

In addition to the presidency, the positions of vice-presidency, one of which must be held by a woman, and six committee member positions are also up for grabs. The remaining two positions will be filled through secondment, with the Premier Soccer League and the newly reconstituted Women Premier Soccer League each adding a member to the executive committee.
