Takudzwa Mombeshora, alias "Most Wanted," has been arrested in connection with the murder of Forbes Jile, whom he allegedly killed while attempting to rob him.

The 20-year-old appeared before Magistrate Apollonia Marutya at the Harare Magistrates' Courts facing murder charges and was remanded in custody.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi informed the court that on January 15, 2025, at around midnight, Jile left Big Apple Sports Bar in Harare, intending to find transport to his home in Dzivarasekwa.

As he walked along Nelson Mandela Street in the CBD, Mombeshora, along with accomplices who are still at large, confronted Jile. They allegedly grabbed his sling bag, shoved him to the ground, and searched his pockets, taking US$10, an itel 70 phone, and other belongings.

The force of the assault caused Jile to hit his head on the tarmac. His body was later discovered by an informant, who is a street child, and the matter was reported to the police.

Jile's body was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

On January 21, 2025, detectives received a tip-off about Mombeshora's whereabouts at Copa Cabana. Upon sighting the detectives, he allegedly became violent and attempted to resist arrest but was subdued and taken into custody.

The court heard that investigations to apprehend the accomplices are still underway.
