Zimbabwe is moving forward with preparations for its participation in Expo 2025, which will take place in Osaka, Japan, from April 13 to October 13, 2025. A 12-member delegation, led by a Commissioner-General, will represent the country at the global event, where Zimbabwe will showcase opportunities in key economic sectors.

Cabinet has approved the preparations, with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Honourable Professor Dr. Amon Murwira, affirming that Zimbabwe's participation is crucial for promoting investment and trade.

"Our preparations are at an advanced stage, and we are ensuring that Zimbabwe is well represented on the global stage. The Zimbabwe Pavilion will highlight opportunities in tourism, mining, education, innovation, and agriculture," said Minister Murwira.

He added that Zimbabwe's participation aligns with the Second Republic's efforts to attract investment and foster economic collaboration. "The Expo provides an opportunity for engagement with international investors and key stakeholders, which will further our national development agenda," he stated.

The event is expected to facilitate high-level engagements with investors and the Zimbabwean diaspora in Japan.

Cabinet also considered preparations for the 2025 Sanganayi/Hlanganani Business Expo, scheduled for September 10 to 12 in Mutare, Manicaland Province. The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbra Rwodzi, confirmed that plans to decentralise the event have been approved, allowing it to rotate across all ten provinces.

"The decentralisation of the Sanganayi/Hlanganani Expo is in line with the government’s devolution policy and the philosophy of ‘leaving no one and no place behind.’ This will ensure that all provinces benefit from tourism, trade, and investment promotion," said Minister Rwodzi.

The Expo will be held in different provinces to enhance regional participation and showcase local investment opportunities.

Zimbabwe’s participation in Expo 2025 is expected to position the country as a competitive investment destination while strengthening its global economic ties.
