The government has approved the decentralisation of the Sanganayi/Hlanganani Business Expo, with the 2025 edition set to take place in Mutare, Manicaland Province.
The announcement followed a Cabinet meeting in Harare on Tuesday, where the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbra Rwodzi, presented a report on the preparations for the event. The 2025 Expo is scheduled to run from September 10 to 12 and is part of the government's commitment to devolution and inclusive economic growth.
Under the new plan, the Sanganayi/Hlanganani Expo will rotate among Zimbabwe's 10 provinces. According to Minister Rwodzi, this move aims to promote tourism, trade, and investment opportunities across the country while ensuring that no region is left behind in economic development efforts.
“The rotational hosting of the Expo will enhance the profiling and rebranding of each province, attracting both local and international investors, while boosting domestic tourism,” Minister Rwodzi said.
The decentralisation is expected to bring economic benefits to host regions, creating employment, improving infrastructure, and showcasing local attractions. This strategic initiative is designed to foster regional economic growth and provide more opportunities for local communities.
As a flagship event in Zimbabwe’s tourism sector, the Sanganayi/Hlanganani Tourism Expo draws participants from various countries and is an important platform for promoting Zimbabwe’s tourism, trade, and investment prospects.
