Jocelyn Maruve, popularly known as MC Lynn, or The Monkey Majesty, has made a name for herself as a vibrant and dynamic master of ceremonies. Since beginning her career in 2022, she has brought energy and professionalism to the industry, proving that passion and resilience can open doors.

Lynn has been a key part of Premier Sounds Solutions since 2022, where she has had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of organizations.

"Working with Premier Sounds, I have managed to work with different organizations such as ZiChiRe, GOAL Zimbabwe, Red Cross Society, Practical Action, Care Zimbabwe (Takunda), REPSSI, MOHCC, and PSH, just to mention a few," she said.

Her expertise has also been sought after by companies such as ZETDC, the Consumer Protection Commission, College Press, Speedbikes, ProFarmerHub, and Bisco Biscuits. Beyond the corporate world, she has also worked with educational institutions like the Harare Institute of Public Health, Herentials, and Sageways Group of Schools.

Her versatility as an MC is evident in the wide range of events she has hosted, including graduation parties, birthdays, kitchen parties, dinner parties, and even wedding expos.

With an expanding portfolio, Lynn is now setting her sights on hosting weddings and more private events. "This year, I hope to start hosting weddings and many private events as an MC," she shared enthusiastically.

Despite her successes, she acknowledges the challenges she has faced, particularly as a female MC. "One of the main issues I have faced is dealing with stereotypes, bias, or harassment as a female MC," she admitted. "But some challenges are manageable, for example, last-minute changes or insufficient event details."

In addition to her work as an MC, Lynn is currently studying Radio Production and Presentation at the Christian College of Southern Africa, further enhancing her skills in the entertainment and media industry. She is also a talented makeup artist and nail technician, showcasing her creativity in multiple fields.

For aspiring female MCs, Lynn offers valuable advice: "Believe in yourself—stay confident. Stay resilient—expect the unexpected. Prepare thoroughly—research, rehearse, and dress professionally.

Build relationships—network and collaborate." She also emphasizes the importance of self-care, saying, "Prioritize your physical and mental health, set boundaries, and lastly, celebrate success."

With her dedication and passion, MC Lynn is not just making a mark—she is redefining the role of female MCs in Zimbabwe and beyond.
