Washington Navaya, the current top scorer in the  Zimbabwe  Premiership, has become a hot prospect, with at least six clubs from South  Africa reportedly vying for his signature.

The 2025 season has seen Navaya in sensational form for TelOne FC, netting an impressive eight goals in eleven appearances.

His prolific scoring record has not gone unnoticed, earning him the Player of the Month awards for March and April, and he is also in contention for the May accolade.

This stellar performance comes after a somewhat subdued spell at Highlanders FC in 2023 under Baltermar Brito, where he was surprisingly offloaded. TelOne FC then acquired his services for the 2024 season, where he has formed a formidable partnership with former Moroka Swallows forward Tawanda Macheke.

Despite Navaya's individual brilliance, TelOne FC currently sit in fifth position in the league standings with 17 points from 11 games, trailing leaders MWOS by six points.

Navaya's agent, Gilbert Sengwe, confirmed the widespread interest in his client to FARPost, stating, "It's too early to divulge the clubs now since we are still weighing options. Also, if anything tangible, we have to update and communicate with his current club since he still has a running contract," Sengwe said. While he remained tight-lipped on the specific clubs, sources indicate that South African sides Polokwane City FC and Sekhukhune United are among the interested parties. Navaya's contract with TelOne FC is set to expire at the end of the 2025 season, making him an even more attractive prospect for potential suitors.

This remarkable season has also put Navaya in contention for a place in the Zimbabwe national team, the Warriors, as they prepare for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to be hosted in Morocco. A consistent goalscorer has been a void in Zimbabwean football in recent years, and Navaya's emergence could be a timely boost for the national side.

It remains to be seen where the in-form striker will land, but the intense interest from multiple Premiership clubs highlights his significant impact on the league this season.
