The Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (Zera) has notified fuel operators whose 2022 operating licences expire on 31 December 2022 to apply for new licenses for 2023.
“All applicants for renewal of licences are required to submit the duly completed licence renewal form accompanied by the requisite supporting documents.
“Please take note that payment of licence fees into the Zera account without submitting adequate application documents does not warrant the issuance of a licence,” Zera said in the notice.
Section 29 of the Petroleum Act states that it is illegal to procure, sell or produce any petroleum product without a licence issued by the Authority and the necessary steps will be taken on those that do not comply.
The licence fees as announced by Zera are as follows, Wholesale US$9 200, Retail licence US$500 for urban and US$200 for rural retailers.
Production licence (mandatory) US$20 000, Production licence (General) US$20 000, Production Licence (Blending) US$5 000, LPG Retail licence US$100 and LPG Wholesale licence US$8 000.
Applications for the 2023 licensing year must be submitted via email on licensing@zera.co.zw in PDF format only and below 10MB in size.
Application forms and lists of requirements are available for download at www.zera.co.zw
Meanwhile, Zera is also inviting persons or agents interested in selling or trading in electricity payments to lodge an application with the authority for consideration.
