Black Mambas Queens Sack Coach Nyoni

Black Mambas Queens Football Club have parted ways with head coach Innocent Nyoni with immediate effect, as the team continues to struggle in the current Zimbabwe Women’s Premier Soccer League season.

The team, once known for its competitiveness and tactical discipline, has endured a string of poor performances, managing only one win from several matches. With just three points collected, Black Mambas Queens now sit second from the bottom of the league table and are in real danger of relegation.

Confirming the development, the club’s executive board said the decision was made after mutual agreement with the outgoing coach.

“This was not an easy decision, but it had to be made in the best interest of the club,” said a board .

“The results have not been going our way, and the team needs a new direction. We are grateful for the work Coach Nyoni has done and wish him the best in his future appointments.”

Nyoni’s tenure had been under growing scrutiny after a series of losses, including a recent 3-0 defeat that further exposed the team’s defensive weaknesses and lack of attacking coordination.

The club has appointed Martin Bonongwe as the new head coach. Bonongwe, a former coach of the side, is expected to bring stability and leadership to the struggling squad.

“We are confident that Coach Bonongwe understands the identity and values of Black Mambas Queens. He is coming in to stabilise the team and help us climb back up the log,” said the board.

Bonongwe will be assisted by Masevere Lesly, with Tsunguro Tafadzwa taking up the role of fitness coach. Moyo Yolanda has been appointed team manager, while Masuka Abigirl will serve as kit manager. The rest of the technical team includes equipment manager Kwenda Perpetual and medics Muturiki Sekai and Makuyana Ruth.

The club is urging fans and stakeholders to rally behind the new technical team as they prepare for a crucial run of fixtures.

“Our supporters have stood by us through thick and thin. Now more than ever, we need them to believe in the turnaround. We are committed to fighting until the end,” the board said.
